World Muay Thai Expo (TBA) 2017 as Assistant Coach
It’s been a while since my last update, but wanted to let you know what I’ve been up to. In late April, after training my ass off for the upcoming Muay Thai World Expo to be held in June, I suffered an unfortunate calf tear in my right leg. I was training one afternoon like normal, when I planted and felt a giant pop in my leg. This sidetracked my plans a bit, and was quite disappointing after starting the year with 3 good boxing fights.
I completed physical therapy about a month ago, and I’m almost back to where I was prior to the injury. This past weekend I was able to attend the Muay Thai World Expo as a coach which ended up being one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done.

To be in the warm-up room, then ringside as these women and men prepared to face their fears head-on was a moving experience. A few of the first-time fighters, I'd helped individually in their preparation for the tournament, and to see them overcome that fear and just go for it was magical. Though I was disappointed that I myself could not compete, I was every bit as emotionally invested as my teammates suffered the joys and defeats of combat.
