WAKO 2015 North American K1 Championships

I had a good showing in the WAKO North American Championships held in conjunction with UFC Fight Week two weekends ago. After an exciting fight in the opening round of the tournament, I advanced to the final and faced the same guy I lost to in the final last September. We fought to a judges decision, and my opponent ultimately took home the gold. Disappointing for sure, but many people came up to me after the fight who were blown away by the decision. Still, I was happy with the result. After a disappointing outing a few weeks earlier at the TBA Muay Thai Classic, I was a lot happier with how I fought. This capped a run of 13 fights in 14 months and was the third time that I've made it to the championship of a national tournament. I've learned so much in this last year, and I know that more of these close fights will start to go my way. I'll be taking a few weeks to process this past year, enjoy some fish and chips, Fulton beer, and a bar stool at Grumpy's, and then I'll start thinking about my next move.
